Chapbooks—little collections of poetry, usually somewhere between 20-30 pages—are often a first step toward becoming a public poet, offering an inexpensive, creative way to elevate the voice of the poet and their work.

In this class, we'll read and discuss a selection of poems from recent chapbooks, work through several outlining and generative prompts, explore methods and tips for drafting a chapbook, and discuss different modes of publishing or self-publishing your chapbook. Informative handouts will be provided. This class is designed for those with a chapbook project already in mind, as well as those curious about the possibility.

All levels of experience welcome; bring 3–5 favorite poems!
