Reclaiming Language returns once again! In previous versions, we examined the ways writers of color use poetic form as a tool for resistance. In this class, we'll explore how writers of color use language to resist erasure, reform what determines legitimacy, and alter our own relationships to writing.
We'll tackle Kendrick's Pulitzer win, probe historical documents with Layli Long Soldier's work, as well as discuss other writers of color both contemporary and classic. Join us as we reclaim poetry and who's good enough to write it.
All levels welcome! No class 11/21.
