Do you like to act out plays with your friends? In this class, you'll learn to write one! You'll discover how to create an intriguing plot by charting what the audience needs to know and when. You'll use improvisation to come up with unique characters and snappy dialogue. Our class time will be spent writing, giving and receiving feedback, and revising.

You'll learn playwriting basics by watching, listening to, and reading from the dramatic versions of Charlotte's Web and Monsters, Inc., among others. Then you'll incorporate the lessons you learn into your own writing. You'll also have an opportunity to see how your dramatic writing "works" by reading/performing it with others in the class.
