Have you ever played the game Two Truths, One Lie? It's not just a good time in the lunchroom; it's also a cool way to explore truth-telling and fabrication in creative writing. Through discussion, reading, and writing, this one-day class will reveal strategies for getting at the truth through fiction.

Students will use Two Truths, One Lie as a prompt to compose a flash fiction piece and a prose poem. They will read outstanding examples from these genres and delve into their artistry. Engaging topics will include unreliable narrators, personas, characterization, and confessional speakers. Students will leave with original drafts they can continue to shape into amazing works of creative writing. The class is designed for young writers of all skill levels.
