Instead of going house-to-house for treats, we will be going from storytelling to autobiography to poetry to get a taste of each! Reading from books like Rev Up Your Writing in Fictional Stories, A Song About Myself (an autobiographical adaptation of Keats' playful poem, for kids), and Pizza, Pigs and Poetry, as well as some spooooky Halloween stories, we'll study what makes great writing, and then practice creating our own sweet selection of stories and poems. Students will learn which ingredients go into each form, and take home some tricks to keep them writing! Bring your trick or treat baskets; we'll end class with some tasty Halloween treats!
