All genres in creative writing and journalism, all ages. My background is in teaching composition, applied rhetoric, creative writing, poetry, short fiction, novel, memoir both short form and long, prose poetry, flash fiction, Internet writing, and style and form. My published work has appeared in fifty or more journals and in short collections and collections of short works. Notable among those are Asymptote, New World Writing, Wigleaf and Wigleaf Top 50, Big Bridge, Thrice, Gulf Coast, and other publications. Xexoxial, Argotist, Veery, and Thrice have published or will publish six of my short works collections, including Country Without a Name and Clarity or Enough. My teachers have been Lorrie Moore, Larry Woiwode, Jerome Rothenberg, James Robison, Rosellen Brown, Adam Zagajewski, and Padgett Powell, among others. I have taught gifted and talented young people ages K-8 and 9-12. I have taught writers of retirement age and every other age and level of development. We can survey genres together or begin with a focus in one genre. I can consider book-length manuscripts along with meetings for coaching.
