The Loft is bringing leading agents and editors to Minneapolis. They'll be here seeking great, new work. Will you be pitching yours?
Bridging Readers & Writers
To kickoff the Pitch, Lisa Lucas will lead an interactive morning workshop on publishing, readers, and book trends. When Lisa was named the new Executive Director of the National Book Foundation she said she wanted to make reading fun again and to find ways to better celebrate the cultural value of writing and storytelling. Almost a year later, how is that mission going? As writers, what do those efforts mean for us? What role do writers play in achieving that goal? And what kinds of trends, advice, or wisdom can we learn from one of the most respected people in the book world?
The conference will cover two intense days. Friday will feature a half-day workshop led by Lisa Lucas, a series of pitch and breakout sessions in the afternoon, and an evening event featuring visiting agents and editors responding to anonymous query letters.
On Saturday, attendees will return for a full lineup of breakout and pitch sessions. Every attendee will have the opportunity for three one-on-one pitch sessions with a visiting agent.
The conference is limited to 144 attendees. Registration opens November 15 for Loft members, November 17 for general public.
