Kurtis will also address concerns related to theme, content, or formatting for this niche area, and then identify some possible next steps for your project. Kurtis will also be available to answer questions by phone or email.

Middle Grade Novels: A 2-3 page letter commenting on how to “play to your strengths,” and bolster your chances when you go out for submission. Kurtis will also address concerns related to theme, content, or formatting, and then identify some possible next steps for your project. Kurtis will also be available to answer questions by phone or email.

For all manuscripts, Kurtis provides a broad critique similar to a response you'd get from an agent or editor. For more detailed/line-by-line edits consider another editor such as Esther Porter.

Kurtis Scaletta is the author of the middle grade novels Mudville, Mamba Point, The Tanglewood Terror, and The Winter of the Robots. He is also the author of the Topps League chapter book series. He has worked with writers of children’s books at every level through the Loft and SCBWI for several years, and particularly enjoys the peculiarities of chapter books, a wonderful but under-represented area in the range of books for young readers.
