What You’ll Submit:

Adults: Your young adult novel contemporary/realistic manuscript. 

Teens: Your manuscript (up to 60,000 words) | Carrie is starting her teen manuscript critique on September 8, but interested teens can sign up now to get on her schedule.

What You’ll Get:

Adults: A 4–5 page editorial letter examining areas of strength and possible development for plot, characters, and themes. You will also receive reading recommendations and a brief draft of “as-is jacket copy” for you to use in further editing and shaping of story.

Teens: A 2–3 page editorial letter outlining strengths of the manuscript, possible areas for development, and encouragement/advice on how to pursue a career as an author. Critique includes a half hour meeting or phone conversation.

Pricing:
Loft manuscript critique consists of a flat base price, plus a per word fee. You can enter your word count below and the system will calculate your price.

Carrie Mesrobian is a native Minnesotan. She has a BA in Creative Writing and Spanish from St. Olaf College and an MFA in Fiction from The Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University. A former high school Spanish instructor, Carrie’s writing has appeared in the Star Tribune, Brain, Child magazine, and Calyx. Her debut young adult novel, Sex & Violence, was named Best Teen Fiction of 2013 by Publishers Weekly and Kirkus and a finalist for YALSA’s 2014 William C. Morris Award for Debut YA fiction. Her second novel, Perfectly Good White Boy, will be released October 2014.
