For In-person events: Advanced tickets guarantee a general admission seat and help cover the Loft's costs to host the event. We are committed to accessibility at our events. If the event cost is a barrier, please show up to the event and we will accommodate you at the door through pay-what-you-can admission.

2025 Loft Writers of Color and Indigenous Writers Mixer + Open Mic

Join us as we celebrate our diverse writing community! During this social hour, we encourage current and prospective friends of the Loft to come hang and write with us from 4:00 - 5:30 PM at Open Book and join us for the Writers of Color Open Mic Reading afterwards at 6:00 PM. Drinks and light snacks are provided. $10 or pay as you can at the door for general public; $5 for Friends of the Loft!

Come, write about art in an immersive experience of exhibitions, lectures, and collections at the Minneapolis Art Institute. In this adventurous class, writer and Loft Executive & Artistic Director, Arleta Little, will invite participants to explore ekphrastic writing through discussion, exercises, and workshops while learning about visual art and artists from the 20th and 21st centuries. The Photography Studies class will offer behind the scenes access to Mia's Photography Study.
