Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute (MOI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students, ages 6-18, with their writing skills and homework, emphasizing cross-curricular creativity. MOI offers five free programs for local students, both in and out of school, including drop-in tutoring.

MOI is partnering with High School for Recording Arts (HSRA) for an eight week writing workshop where HSRA students will work with MOI staff and volunteers on written pieces to be developed into podcast episodes. Students will get a chance to write poems, narratives, interviews, etc. around the HSRA core values: family, education, community, and respect.  Volunteers will work with students on brainstorming and writing their pieces, which the students will then turn into audio pieces. MOI needs flexible and adaptable volunteers who are passionate about working with high school students and helping them find their voice. The workshop is Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00-1:50pm. If you are interested in volunteering with this position, email natalie@moi-msp.org.
