Annette Atkins has been wrestling historical facts into stories for 30 years. In her full-length history of Minnesota (Creating Minnesota: A History from the Inside Out, MNHS Press, 2007), she transformed mountains of information into stories about Christmas stockings and walleye quesadillas, voyageurs and Hubert Humphrey (for examples).
In addition to her four books and her many articles, she was Cathy Wurzer's historian side-kick on MPR Radio's Morning Edition for five years. She's taught writing and history at Saint John's University / College of Saint Benedict.
Annette looks forward to engaging with others who are combining writing and history, especially their own family histories. Visit www.annetteatkins.com.
