Anna Marie Bushlack

Anna Bushlack is an actor, writer, and solo performance artist. She holds a BFA in theatre with an emphasis in playwriting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. From 2003–2006 she toured her one-woman-show Slow Children Playing throughout the US including New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and her performance won the Producer’s Pick of the Fringe award at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival in 2005. Anna has worked as a teaching artist since 2004 specializing in writing, acting, solo performance, and diversity awareness workshops to youth. Locally, she has taught an afterschool program for the East Metro Integration District (EMID) in St. Paul called Synergy: social justice performing arts. Through Synergy, Anna has helped students create original pieces of theatre that focus on a social justice topic that impacts them and their communities. These pieces are then performed for their school assemblies and at an EMID student retreat. Anna is passionate about students discovering their voice and telling stories through writing and performance.
