Mentor Series in Poetry & Creative Prose

Contest is now: CLOSED

2012-2013 Loft Mentor Series

The Loft Mentor Series in Poetry and Creative Prose offers twelve emerging Minnesota writers the opportunity to work intensively with six nationally acclaimed writers of prose and poetry. Twelve emerging writers are selected through anonymous competition to work intensively with six nationally acclaimed writers of prose and poetry. Three of the mentors spend an extended period of time working with the entire group. The other three come in for intensive weekends of craft seminars with the full group and individual manuscript conferences with the writers in their genre. Additional small genre-specific workshops are held with the long-term mentors and all participants have individual conferences with the two mentors in their genre. This program is funded by the Jerome Foundation.

The 2012–2013 Mentor Series will include Susan Power, Jude Nutter, Jack El-Hai, Oliver de la Paz, Jewell Parker Rhodes, and David Small. The deadline to apply was April 25, 2012 at 7 p.m. (this is not a postmark deadline).
